DAVID CHRISTOPHER FINE ART LANDSCAPE PHOTOGRAPHY
Award-winning landscape photographer, David Christopher, was
born and raised in San Diego.
His photography is self-taught and his images are caught on film. Like many
landscape photographers, he uses a tripod, long exposures and at most, a
polarizer and/or neutral density filters to hold back and control light. He
does not use color enhancers or manipulate the scene.
Just after high school, Dave was scouted to model and was later signed by Ford
Models. Over the next 17 years, he was able to travel to places throughout the US
and Canada, and
live abroad in different parts of the world for months at a time. Modeling was
a vehicle that allowed him to experience different countries, cultures and
customs. Extended stays, enabled him to immerse himself in everyday life
as opposed to tourist-type travel. Traveling quickly became a passion while
photography became a personal way to share stories.
Later, hoping to somehow continue this traveling lifestyle, photography took on
a new appreciation and purpose. It was then that landscape photography went
from being a medium for telling stories and safeguarding memories to the
possibility of creating a career. Today, the memories remain his, but the
emotions they create, are shared by thousands.
Dave's limited edition gallery fine art prints are purchased by art collectors,
art dealers and interior designers throughout the nation. His work has won
awards, been juried into some of the nation's top art exhibits and received
recognition in San Diego's two
major newspapers. His self-published calendars, cards, posters and other
photographic gifts have been sold in over 75 stores throughout San
Diego and his customer list includes giants like
Costco, Wal-mart, Kroger, Hallmark, and Borders.
Today, Dave's work is recognized and appreciated by millions. Having compiled
one of the greatest, most diverse and colorful collections of San
Diego photographs in history, his work stands out in a
city that is visited and loved by millions from all over the world.
With plans to open his first gallery in the near future, people will soon be
able to walk in and view his work personally. Until that time, his quality,
workmanship and attention to detail is viewable through different art dealers
by appointment only. For more information or to schedule a visit, please call
858-837-0218. Several galleries and art dealers are available throughout San
Diego.
Dave hopes to raise awareness of the beauty that surrounds us, man made and
natural, obvious and obscured. He encourages others to be more thoughtful of
our ever-changing environment and our individual responsibility towards its
preservation.
