Limited Edition Photographic Prints. Overlooking Old Town from its hilltop location, this Spanish Mission-style building has watched San Diego grow up. Built in 1929 to commemorate Father Junipero Serra's establishment of the first mission and fortified settlement in present-day California, it now watches over the area where in 1769 the first mission, first presidio (Spanish for fort), and first non-native establishment on the west coast of North America was founded.
