Flower Fields - Every year, from early March through May, nearly 50 acres of Tecolote Ranuculus bloom to life over the rolling hillsides of Carlsbad. These flowers, with their spectacularly vibrant colors, signal to all who pass by the arrival of spring. Established by Edwin Frazee and his family in the late 1950s, and maintained today by the Ecke family, the Flower Fields have become part of the area's local heritage and have given visitors a place to play amongst an ocean of colorful blooms.
